Every Child Deserves to Reach Their Infinite Potential

For over a decade, American Society for the Positive Care of Children has been providing millions of families with the tools, strategies, and resources needed to create Positive Childhood Experiences, reduce adversity, and in turn, build healthy, well-adjusted adults.

What are Adverse Childhood Experiences? (ACEs)

ACEs are stressful experiences that can happen to any of us before we turn 18. They’re not our fault, and we don’t have control over when or why they happen. They can be a single event, or an ongoing struggle where our safety, security, trust, or sense of self is threatened or violated. In the US, 1 in 6 adults have experienced four or more types of Adverse Childhood Experiences in their life

What are Positive Childhood Experiences? (PCEs)

PCEs stem from safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments that make children feel protected and cared for. PCEs have the power to prevent or protect children from the impacts of traumatic events, toxic stress, or ACEs. New research shows that PCEs predict positive outcomes, including a child’s good health (now and in adulthood) and help them to thrive.
