Child Safety Help
CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY, IF YOUR CHILD IS UNCONSCIOUS, NOT BREATHING OR DISPLAYING OTHERWISE CONCERNING SYMPTOMS.
Be prepared in case of child injury or accident. Add medical and emergency numbers into contacts on your phone.
When an accident happens, you won’t want to waste time looking up the necessary phone number.
Good numbers to keep on hand include the local police, hospital, your child’s pediatrician, and the Poison Control Center.
Reporting Child Abuse
Neglect and parental drug use are the top two reasons children are removed from their home.
It is not always easy to recognize that a child is being hurt or is at risk, so abuse is often undetected. There are indicators that can point to possible abuse, neglect or violence in the home.
Early intervention by reporting suspected abuse can help families stay together. It can take just one person to make a real difference. Let’s keep our kids safe.
Cyber Safety
Parents who know of a website that is operating illegally should report that information immediately to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website at www.cybertipline.com, or by calling 1-800-843-5678. Your report will be forwarded to a law enforcement agency for investigation and action.
Cyberbullying.org keeps a constantly updated list of contact information for social media apps, gaming networks, and related companies, so you know where to get help for bullying, harassment, threats, and other forms of misuse.
