Cartoons Against Cruelty

Cartoon Character Campaign

Give yourself a facelift and pass it on!

If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, now is the time.

From now through April 30, change your profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood.  The objective of the campaign is to see not only cartoon faces on Facebook or Twitter, but also an infusion of memories for the fight against child abuse.

Nobody knows who started this campaign last year, and some people asked the question:  “What does changing your profile picture do to prevent child abuse?”  While it did raise awareness, there still wasn’t an organization for people to get behind to push the cause forward.  One year later, we now have that organization:  the American SPCC.  Join us in raising awareness, educating the public, and implementing a national strategy focused on prevention.

By changing your profile picture, and encouraging others to do the same, you can help us raise awareness of the epidemic in front of us.  If enough people get involved, the media will pay attention.  If enough media pays attention, then the politicians will pay attention, especially in an election year.  Global change often starts with the smallest gesture. We can make a difference, but it starts with awareness.  It starts with you.  Help us prevent future victims.

 “Think”  before you react.
